Betsson Group Reports Strong Financial Results for Q4 and FY 2024
Betsson Group recently released its financial results for the fourth quarter (Q4) and full year (FY) of 2024, showcasing impressive business growth and favorable financial performance. CEO Pontus Lindwall expressed pride in the company’s achievements, noting that 2024 was Betsson’s best year yet.
Record-Breaking Performance in Q4
During the three-month period ending on December 31, Betsson reported a group revenue of EUR 306.8 million, marking a 22% increase from the previous year. The company highlighted that 48% of this growth was organic. Notably, Betsson’s casino business saw a steady 17% growth, while sports betting revenue surged by 36% with a 9.8% margin.
EBITDA for Q4 reached EUR 96.4 million, up 20% year-on-year, with an EBITDA margin of 28.2%. Operating income for the quarter stood at EUR 70.2 million, showing a 23% increase from the previous year, with a margin of 22.9%. Net income was reported at EUR 53.1 million, and earnings per share were EUR 0.38. Operating cash flow stood at EUR 84.6 million.
Strong FY 2024 Results
For the full year of 2024, Betsson announced that its group revenue reached EUR 1.1 billion, showing a 17% increase overall and a remarkable 41% organic growth. EBITDA for the year was EUR 316 million, up by 20% year-on-year, with an EBITDA margin of 28.6%. Operating income increased to EUR 256.7 million, with an EBIT margin of 23.2%.
Net income for FY 2024 was reported at EUR 183.7 million, with earnings per share of EUR 1.32. The company’s operating cash flow for the year amounted to EUR 272.9 million. Betsson ended the year with a net debt of EUR -139.8 million, and its active customer base remained stable at 1.3 million.
Dividend Proposal and CEO’s Remarks
The board of directors proposed an ordinary dividend of EUR 0.657 per share and a special dividend of EUR 0.10 per share. CEO Pontus Lindwall commended the company’s financial performance, emphasizing Betsson’s position as a leader in the gaming industry.
