LNW Gaming, a subsidiary of Light & Wonder, has made the decision to shut down its facility located in Michigan, resulting in upcoming layoffs for approximately 100 employees. The company officially filed a notice with the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, notifying them that the facility at 22630 Haggerty Road in Farmington Hills will be closing its doors for good next month.

LNW Gaming confirmed that the layoffs will affect around 92 employees due to the closure of the Michigan facility. The company stated that the layoff process is scheduled to begin on April 27 and will impact a range of employees, from entry-level operators and game show presenters to managers, supervisors, and trainers.
The affected workers are not unionized, and there are no bumping rights available for any employee, according to LNW Gaming.
Legal Setback for LNW Gaming
Aside from the layoffs, LNW Gaming recently faced legal challenges in Nevada, where a judge ruled against the company in a case brought by Talisman Group. The lawsuit centered around LNW’s violation of a distribution agreement with Talisman Group regarding the popular baccarat product EZ Baccarat.
The court found that LNW Gaming had breached its contract with Talisman Group by promoting a competing baccarat game, Ruyi Baccarat, while still leasing EZ Baccarat to the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. The legal battle is ongoing and will continue in Vancouver.
